The MFRD was called in to monitor a gas leak near the Wagon West Travel Plaza yesterday morning (Nov.18) at about 9 a.m.
An excavator struck a gas line while working on the site of the ENN Canada LNG fueling station on Airport Road behind the Greyhound bus station.
Fire Chief Dave Tomkinson said firefighters cordoned off the area and waited for Fortis BC to fix the issue.
No injuries were reported from the incident and 11 firefighters responded.
Since Sunday, MFRD has responded to 14 incidents.
