The Bass Coast Music and Arts festival was another rousing success this year, catering to a sellout crowd of 4,500 people.

Everyone partied responsibly at the space themed event, with police reporting little to no complaints from the festival other than one call where they had to evict some people who snuck in without tickets.

The weekend event has been held in Merritt for the past five years and continues to grow as it saw its largest crowd of festival-goers to date.

This year Bass Coast increased its harm reduction and medical teams and, for the first time ever, live streamed some of its acts online via its website and social medic channels.

Once again there were more than 50 art installations set up around the festival grounds this year.

Organizer Paul Brooks said the goal for the next five years is to continue growing sustainably in Merritt.
