Dear Editor:

I feel I must comment on the recent graduation ceremony in Merritt. My wife and I travelled over from England to share the day with our great niece.

What a disappointment it turned out to be. Could anybody explain before we return home, why they would continue to use a P.A. system where nobody was able to distinguish a word of any of the speeches or the comments about the students’ achievments? Was this not checked before the ceremony began?

I could also complain about the fact the students had to vacate their cars on the road, and then line up in the cold to walk the red carpet.

Please Canada, I know from previous experience of your great country you can do better than this. I feel the students, the families, and indeed those of us who had travelled so far, deserved better than this.
