It wasn’t easy, but 58 games later the Merritt Centennials found themselves in the BCHL playoffs.

Their first round opponent would be a formidable one as they squared off against the Interior Division winning Penticton Vees – a team they had a losing record against this season at 2-4-1-0.

To make matters worse, the Cents would enter the series without two of its best players as leading scorer Diego Cuglietta and defenceman Dane Birks were both out with injuries. The odds were against them, but in the playoffs anything can happen.
