Three members of the Howard family from Merritt took part in the annual Jack Brow Invitational Track Meet in Kelowna on the weekend.

Thirteen-year-old Rose Howard wins her section of the girls’ 300-metre run in 47.69 seconds. She also competed in the long jump (4.00 metres) and high jump (1.25 metres).

Alex Howard (pictured) leaped 3.06 metres in the nine-year-old boys’ long jump. He also tossed the shot put (4.99 metres), and ran the 100 metres (17.42 seconds), the 600 metres (2:18.51) and the 1,000 metres (4:15.48).

Hannah Howard competed in the 11-year-old girls’ 100 metres (17.06 seconds), 200 metres (36.84), 600 metres (2:21:51), long jump (2.80 metres) and shot put (5.88 metres).

Over 500 athletes representing 53 clubs from throughout B.C. and Alberta took part in this year’s Jack Brow.
