According to Merritt RCMP Const. Tracy Dunsmore, the most surprising break-in news this past week has been the lack thereof.

Dunmore noted local RCMP have received approximately twenty or more reports of vehicle break-ins these past two months. However, last week was a different story.

“In the last week we have had no complaints of theft from motor vehicles — that’s got to be a first,” she said.

To keep this trend going, RCMP encourages people to make sure their vehicle doors are locked and valuables are out of sight.
