The Merritt Secondary School girls rugby team rebounded from a loss in their season opener to blank South Kamloops 44-0.

Tries were scored by Hope Smith, Taylor Nicholls, Jamie Neill, Neleah Chillihitzia, Emily Geire (2), Tyra Gage, and Rachael Smith.

“It was a huge improvement from game one. The girls have definitely found their legs and their confidence,” said coach Erica Martindale. “Coaches Molly and Nathan Brigden and [I] are incredibly proud of their improvements.”
