The annual mixed VolleyFest event returned to Merritt on April 6, 7 and 8, with teams taking over the Coquihalla Middle School gym, Merritt Secondary School and Collettville Elementary. Winners were crowned in five divisions, evidence of another strong year from a registration standpoint, said Angela Russell, an executive with the Merritt Volleyball Association.

The MVA will host the ladies’ VolleyFest from April 27 to 29, and organizers expect another full tournament with 40 teams already registered.

“We are looking forward to another very successful tournament as well as being able to make a sizeable donation to the Ty Pozzobon Foundation (a charity that is near and dear to many in our community),” said Russell.

Here is some of the action from the courts at Merritt Secondary School.
