School District 58 bid farewell to secretary-treasurer Kevin Black, who has resigned after nearly seven years of working in the district.

“I have accepted the position of assistant secretary-treasurer with School District 91 (Nechako Lakes). The community my family and I will be based out of is Vanderhoof, which is where my wife is from,” Black said.

His decision to relocate wasn’t easy, he said.

It was a difficult decision as my family and I have been in this community for almost seven years. Our three children have immersed themselves into various community activities and have made many friends,” Black said.

Black expressed his gratitude for his time with School District 58, as well as optimism for the future of the schools and community.

“I know that with the solid leadership team the district will continue to grow and provide excellent opportunities for students,” Black said.

“I have had the opportunity to be a part of each and every school in a small way and I am truly thankful for the principals, teachers and numerous support staff that make the educational experience rewarding for our students.”
