Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Junior Hockey League, announced on Wednesday the 34 players that will attend the Canada West team selection camp in preparation for the 2011 World Junior A Challenge.
Reece Willcox, 17, of the Merritt Centennials is one of 12 defensemen chosen to attend the camp, which will run from Oct. 29 - Nov. 1 at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. - the same venue that host the 2011 WJAC from Nov. 7 - 13.
Also selected to take part in the Canada West selection camp is 17-year-old defenseman Jordan Paddock, a former Merritt minor hockey player and current member of the Powell River Kings.
A total of 18 players from the BCHL were chosen to the selection camp, along with 14 players in total from the Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Superior International Junior Hockey Leagues.
