Cents’ Willcox on NHL Central Scouting’s North American midterm rankings list
The accolades just keep pouring in for 17-year-old Merritt Centennials’ defenseman Reece Willcox. On the heels of his participation in the World Junior A Challenge last November, as a member of the gold-medal-winning Canada West Team, Willcox has been identified by NHL Central Scouting as one of the Top-210 North American skaters eligble for this year’s National Hockey League entry draft, which will be held June 22-23 at the Consol Energy Centre in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Willcox, who recently accepted a NCAA Division 1 scholarship to Cornell beginning in September, 2012, is one of seven players currently playing in the British Columbia Hockey League who made the Top-210 midterm rankings list:
#80 Jujhar Khaira (Prince George Spruce Kings)
#81 Alexander Kerfoot (Coquitlam Express)
#104 Morgan Zulinick (Salmon Arm Silverbacks)
#114 Reece Willcox (Merritt Centennials)
#181 Devon Toews (Surrey Eagles)
#203 Paul De Jersey (Prince George Spruce Kings)
#204 Wade Murphy (Penticton Vees)
