I am a lifetime resident of Merritt and retired from a forty year career in banking. My knowledge of finances, Merritt, its residents, and now three successful years of being your mayor, combined with my commitment, my positive attitude and vision, makes me the right choice for re-election.
My understanding of business plans and the need to follow them will keep us on the right track to success. I will continue to work to ensure your tax dollars are spent wisely and you see benefits now and for the future. Merritt residents deserve a community that garners pride and respect, we need to blow our own horn and be proud of our accomplishments.
I would like to see council continue their focus on getting our fair share from other levels of government to ensure our community is in a better position to provide services and benefits to all our residents. Merritt will need to continue to diversify its economy so that we can weather any sector downturn, which can be accomplished by attracting different types of businesses through good marketing, reducing red tape and providing the atmosphere they need to prosper.
