Cst Tracy Dunsmore whips up a salad dressing, during last Wednesday’s Iron Chef syle cook off, which had members of the RCMP cooking with participants from the Spirit of the Youth program.

Students from Collettville Elementary enjoy cupcakes during this years Carnivale, or winter festival, which is being celebrated all week at the school. The students will also enjoy skating, skiing, and a soap box derby, all as part of the weeks festivities.

The general store at Douglas Lake ranch is different today, the original store with the old gas pump at the front, is gone, the post office and Mr. Chance’s office is replaced with a clothing line in western wear.

Last Wednesday night a panel of local judges were treated to the culinary exploits of five local teams vying for the coveted title of Iron Chef-Merritt.
