The BCHL is heading out on its own.
A statement released by the CJHL, the governing body of junior ‘A’ hockey across Canada, said that the BCHL has submitted a notice to withdraw their membership from the CJHL effective March 24.
The remaining nine leagues in the CJHL will remain under its banner , while the BCHL moves to independency.
Speculation that the B.C. league would be going out on its own has been a whisper around hockey circles for a few years.
What this move may mean for the future of the BCHL is yet to be known. More to come.
