B.C. Premier John Horgan has stressed the importance of returning snowbirds following the requirements.

“We welcome home these travellers, but we ask them to join us in the battle we have been going through the past few weeks,” he said in a Wednesday press conference.

Those returning to Vancouver International Airport will have to have a mandatory self-isolation plan, filling out forms to ensure their safety and the safety of others. If they cannot fill out the form properly, they will be put in quarantine.

“I believe this is a reasonable expectation. As grateful as we are to have them back in British Columbia, they must carry the ball as we have.”

Tomorrow will be the final day that U.S. flights will fly into Kamloops and Kelowna, leaving Vancouver as the only international hub.

Translators will be stationed at YVR to ensure that forms are filled out correctly for those that english is not a first language.

With a handful of religious holidays also coming up this weekend,  Horgan is asking B.C. residents are “staying the course.”
