A West Kelowna RCMP officer was waiting in line at a drive-through just before 2:30 a.m. on March 1 when she discovered that the vehicle she was behind had been reported stolen in Edmonton.

Officers surrounded the car, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

During the arrest, it was determined that the suspect had two outstanding warrants from Merritt, both for driving while prohibited, and at the time was a prohibited driver.

39-year-old Peter Hancock is facing charges of prohibited driving and possession of stolen property. He currently remains in custody.
