A 57-year old woman has been pronounced dead after a report made at Big White ski resort.
West Kelowna RCMP released a statement Tuesday along with the BC Coroners Service confirming the deceased.
On January 2nd, 2021, at approximately 4:17 p.m., emergency crews rushed to the Big White ski resort in response to a 911 emergency call for a report of a deceased woman. Police learned that the woman had been skiing and failed to meet her group.
Upon finding the woman in a wooded area, CPR was immediately performed, though the woman was unable to be resuscitated.
“Despite the best efforts of everyone involved, the woman passed away. At this time, criminality is not suspected in her death.” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.”
Due to the privacy of the deceased and her family, neither RCMP or the BC Coroners Service will be revealing her identity.
