The Canadian Diabetes Association will be collecting used clothes, electronics and small household goods in Merritt as part of the organization’s “Fill a Truck” event.

The truck will be at Spirit Square on Saturday from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. with the goal of raising 2,000 kilograms (about 4,400 pounds) of donated clothing and electronics.

The association’s Clothesline program diverts more than 46 million kilograms of clothes and household items from landfills.

The organization is paid for the volume of goods delivered by Value Village, which sells the goods donated to it at its retail locations.
