There is a fire in a pile of wood waste at the Tolko mill. The Merritt Fire Rescue Department is on scene and have hose lines out to douse the flames.
The fire broke out just before 4 p.m. Flames were visible from the top of the pile and smoke could be seen billowing into the neighbouring Claybanks RV Park.
Multiple firefighters are on scene.
