Merrittonians have five locations where they can get the flu shot, which is now available.
Now more than ever, getting the flu shot is important during the times of COVID-19. Both are contagious respiratory diseases, and can make for a deadly combination to some.
In Merritt, the Nicola Valley Hospital Health Centre is the communities Public Health location.
There are also four pharmacy locations around town where residents can book their flu shots: Black’s Pharmacy, Pharmasave, Walmart, and Extra Foods.
The community is urged to book (which is mandatory) their appointments early, as flu season is typically considered the beginning of November.
Opportunities to get the shot will be available throughout the fall and winter.
