Dear Editor:

It seems like the mayor is not looking at her computer these days and seeing the price of fuel in other towns. Why is it that the price of gas in Merritt is all the same? If you ask the station about it, they tell you it is the shipping. Seems like Alberta is a long way away if they send it from there. Ever since we have the Coquihalla-Highway travellers gas up in Hope where gas is cheaper than Merritt and drive straight to Kamloops. All restaurants hire people on a fixed income and they are struggling to make ends meet. Look at everything. Gas stations have dropped when you go by them and there are no cars there. People are driving to Kamloops to shop and get their fuel and also filling jerry cans too at $0.98 a litre, which seems unfair to us.

Yours truly,

W.J.F

Merritt, B.C.
