The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is once again closing Hwy 99 between Pemberton and Lillooet in a proactive effort to protect vulnerable infrastructure and human life.

Heavy rains are forecasted to hit British Columbia in the coming days, which could cause additional damage in areas already impacted by flooding and landslide activity.

Four people have died in landslides on Hwy 99, following the devestation caused by an atmospheric river that hammered BC with excessive rains earlier this month.

Drivers are advised that Hwy 99 will be closed overnight and the duration of closure will depend on the weather and road conditions.
