Only eight new cases of COVID-19 have been discovered in B.C. over the last 24 hours.

Dr. Henry gave the news at her daily Tuesday briefing on the virus.

No new cases were discovered in Interior Health, whose number of total cases remains at 177. The total number of cases B.C.-wide is now at 2,232.

Despite the low new count, Dr. Henry declared that we are “not through this yet.”

In typical Dr. Henry fashion, she gave a memorable quote to give the news: “a few faces in big spaces.”

The Lynn Valley Care Centre outbreak, the first care centre outbreak identified for COVID-19, has also been declared over by Dr. Bonnie Henry.

The care centre in the Vancouver Health system was first declared in outbreak around two months ago, leading to 20 deaths.The first coronavirus death in Canada occurred with a man who lived at the facility.

There is currently 22 active outbreaks in long-term care homes in B.C., while 17 have been declared over.

Four more deaths were announced Province-wide: three in Fraser Health and one in Vancouver Health.

78 patients remain in hospital, up one from yesterday. 21 are in ICU.
