The Merritt RCMP arrested a 54-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing a man in the face and arms on Oct. 12.
The woman allegedly used a small knife against the man when the two were having an argument on the Coldwater Indian Band reserve at about 9:30 p.m. that night. Alcohol was involved, police reported.
The 45-year-old man was treated for his injuries at the Nicola Valley Health Centre.
As part of the conditions put on her behaviour, the woman can’t leave the Merritt area, communicate with the victim, consume alcohol or other “intoxicating substances,” and consume drugs other than those prescribed by a doctor.
“She can’t possess firearms, she must notify Merritt RCMP of any change in address and she must report to a bail supervisor,” White added, noting the woman is known to police.
The woman is scheduled to report to Provincial Court in December.
