Smoke from the Western United States wildfires is expected to stick around for at least another day in Merritt.

Over the last couple of days, and for perhaps the next two, Pacific Ocean air has been blowing smoke east from the ongoing wildfires in the United States.

Washington, Oregon, and California have been hit hard by fire in the past week.

They have caused air quality in BC, mostly in Vancouver, to be some of the world’s worst, and that smoke seems to have hit Merritt hard since the weekend.

The entire Okanagan region is currently under a ’10+’ on the Air Quality Health Index at the moment, the worst possible recording.
