The Merritt RCMP has located the white panel van and identified two occupants, after it was alleged the driver and passenger attempted to lure children into the vehicle.

A press release by the RCMP originally stated that on October 25, 2022, shortly after 6:00pm, a white panel van with a ladder fixed to the roof pulled into the parking lot of 7/11 on Nicola Avenue in Merritt. According to reports, two male occupants inside the work vehicle attempted to lure two young girls to the van. The girls refused and left the scene safely.
