The BC Wildfire Service is reporting two new wildfires that have begun between Merritt and Stump Lake.
The closest, dubbed the E Mabel Creek fire, is located just west of Bob Lake about 35-kilometres north of Merritt between Hwy. 5 and Hwy. 5A. It is considered ‘New’ in stage of control and currently burns at around 0.01 hectares.
The second, also between Hwy. 5 and Hwy. 5A, is the Broad Road fire just southwest of Stump Lake. It is also estimated at around 0.01 hectares.
