Thieves targeted a local tow yard sometime overnight on Nov. 11.
Merritt RCMP responded to a call from Mario’s Towing Monday morning after employees discovered several vehicles in their compound on Nicola Avenue had been searched through.
“Suspects forcibly entered the property then rummaged through several vehicles on the property, stealing items and in one case smashing a window to gain access to the interior of the vehicle,” Staff. Sgt. Lorne Wood told the Herald. “Suspects also attempted to remove batteries from some of the vehicles.”
Wood said RCMP are in the process of getting in touch with vehicle owners to determine what items were stolen.
