UPDATE:  A serial bank robber continues to plague police, recently striking his ninth bank in the last two months across three provinces. On Jan. 28,  just before 4 p.m., a man entered a financial institution in Dawson Creek, produced a firearm and demanded money. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and no one was injured during the robbery, RCMP say. Employees described him as a caucasian male between the age of 25 and 35 with a slim build, sporting a reddish to light brown beard. He was wearing sunglasses, black gloves, black shoes and a black hoody. A vehicle of interest in this investigation may be a silver GMC Envoy. After viewing other surveillance photos, investigators believe this man to be the same one responsible for the string of eight others between B.C., Alta, and Sask. This latest robbery is the fifth one to occur in B.C. Anyone with information on these robberies or the identity of the suspect is asked to call the RCMP’s tip line at 1-844-887-6287.

RCMP are seeking the suspect in a string of robberies at financial institutions in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan — including Merritt’s Royal Bank on Dec. 23.

The man is described as Caucasian, between 25 and 35 years old with a slim build, between five feet, six inches and six feet tall with a brown beard.

In each case, he was wearing dark clothing, a black tuque, dark sunglasses and gloves.
