Flood-affected residents of Merritt and surrounding areas will be provided with ongoing support thanks to a new resiliency centre operated by the City of Merritt and the TNRD.

The centre is located at the Merritt Civic Centre at 1950 Mamette Ave. and will be open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM to provide resources and help answer questions for flood evacuees returning home following the catastrophic flood of Nov. 15.

The Red Cross and Emergency Support Services are on site at the Resiliency Center along with Disaster Financial Assistance and Disaster Psychosocial Services.

The Insurance Bureau of Canada and a number of insurance companies will be available to provide advice and help property owners file insurance claims.

Other agencies that will have information available include Interior Health, the First Nations Health Authority, Service BC, Technical Safety BC, ICBC, TNRD/Merritt Debris Management and Service Canada.
