In an RCMP press release from last night (April 22), the police stated:

A search for two missing teens from the Lower Mainland has been suspended for the evening after a day of searching on shore and with RCMP dive teams.

After an exhaustive shore search, RCMP focused on searching with RCMP dive team members in Nicola Lake with no luck on recovering any bodies to date. Several articles of clothing and equipment were recovered from the lake and identified by family as having belonged to the teens.

Due to poor visibility and debris in the lake, the search has been suspended for the evening and dive team members and helicopters will continue the search in the morning with sonar equipment.

With respect for the family, RCMP are not releasing names of the boys at this time but have Victims Services working with the family and friends on the scene.

There is no further information at this time and RCMP will update as information becomes available.
