A suspect fled RCMP on Nov. 5, leaving behind stolen goods.
Cp. Brock Hedrick said Merritt RCMP responded to a suspicious persons complaint at Bench Elementary School, noting that a suspect was handling a large object.
Upon police attending, the suspect fled the scene on foot and could not be located.
Police then noticed a large Honda generator, which they believe to be stolen.
