Three new fires have been discovered in the Merritt area, according to the BC Wildfire Service.

A small fire estimated to be no more than 0.1 hectares was discovered at Guichon Creek on Tuesday, but has been brought under control.

East of Merritt, at Spahomin Creek a wildfire was discovered April 15 and has grown to an estimated 500 hectares.

A blaze of roughly three hectares has ignited along the Coldwater River south of Merritt, near to where a fire of approximately 50 hectares was brought under control as it burned in close proximity to the Coldwater Reserve.
