As part of the provincial government’s BC Restart Plan, virtual townhall meetings will be hosted offering British Columbians the chance to ask questions abut the BC Restart Plan and what it looks like for BC moving forward during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On May 20, a K-12 education townhall was held at 7:15pm with Minister of Education Rob Fleming and Stephanie Higginson, President of British Columbia School Trustees Association and Dr. Trevor Corneil, Medical Lead, Office of the Provincial Health Office. The virtual event was hosted by Ravi Kahlon, MLA for Delta North and Parliamentary Secretary for Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, and offered BC citizens that opportunity to ask questions regarding the gradual reopening of schools across the province on a part-time, optional basis.

Today’s virtual townhall at 7:15p.m. revolves around Workplace Safety and will be hosted by Janet Routledge, MLA for Burnaby North. Minister of Labour Harry Bains, and Al Johnson, Vice President of Prevention Services for WorkSafeBC will be present to answer questions.

British Columbians are welcome to ask questions during the virtual townhall by visiting the Government of BC Facebook page.

In the upcoming weeks there will also be Regional Health townhalls, where questions may be submitted to Regional Health Authorities. The date of the Interior Health townhall has yet to be announced but will be conducted with IHA CEO Susan Brown and Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Sue Pollock.
