For the third week out of the last four, the City of Merritt is reported to have no new cases of COVID-19.

The latest report from the BC CDC, for the week of June 20-26, shows no positive tests.

Accordingly, the numbers were low across all surrounding areas: the only surrounding region with more than a 0.1-5.0 per 100,000 population of new cases was South Cariboo, whose small population had four new cases.

Central Okanagan, specifically Kelowna, has seen the numbers drop significantly in the most recent report – after experiencing a high rate of new cases over the last several months, only 29 new cases were reported for the weekly period.

Kamloops had four new cases.

Like Merritt, Princeton had none, as well as Keremeos.

Hope had two.

Only one region across the entire province had a rate of more than 15 cases per 100,000 population – the community of Windermere near the Alberta border, who had 13 new cases.
